The “Delos” Higher School of Drama and the Municipality of Thassos are organizing the 1st Theater Anti-Scene from July 8-12 at the island’s municipal camping site at Chryssi Ammoudia, one of the most exquisite sandy beaches, just a few kilometers from the port.
The goal of the theater workshop taking place at the beautiful North Aegean island is to promote drama to those who wish to learn the secrets of the theater while also exploring the beautiful island that is famous for its crystal-clear waters and unspoiled landscape.
The workshop is geared towards students of the thespian arts (theater, dance, art, directing, music, etc.) as well as professionals and anyone else who has a remote interest in learning more about the theater.
Dimitra Hatoupi, a well-known actress and director, heads the workshops. Dimitris Karatzas and Georgia Mavragani, actors on the local scene, will also lead groups taking part. Scriptwriter Minas Vidiadis will also head a course, as will the chief of the National Theater’s Experimental Scene, Eva Saraga.
The courses aren’t just for adults either. Just as the sun sets over the lush forests of Thassos, Antonis Zoulis will offer yoga classes for children. Actress/language teacher Katerina Zafiropoulou will offer theater games to children.
The cost of the adults seminar for the five days is 250 euros. There will be free accommodation offered, however, to those taking part in trailers as well as tents. Food is also included in the price.
